Assuming the new battery is good! The usual problem why a battery is not charging is the alternator. The battery will be discharged if the alternator is not working properly when you start the engine and when the engine is running, etc. The vehicle uses the batteries electricity instead of the alternators electrical output, and of course if the battery is not being replenished by the alternator the battery will fail in a short period of time. You should test the alternator to see if it is putting out between 12 and 15 volts. Another possible things that could be the problem with a New battery failing so quick is, maybe the proper amount of acid was not put into the battery, a short in the wiring, etc.

It is the alternator. I have a 95 Monte Carlo and this has happened to me twice in the 3 years I've had the car. Each time I had to have the alternator replaced. The first time I had a problem with the alternator I took it to a shop and had it fixed. Two years later the alternator went out again without warning. That time we took it to a different shop and bought a new alternator with a three year warranty so it'll be free if it goes out two years later again.

Don't believe a word AutoZone tells you. My battery died so I went there and they tested my battery and alternator and told me it was the battery. So I bought a new battery and 2 days later, dead again. Went back and they tested again and THIS time, it was the alternator. Battery light usually means alternator not charging. Most common solutions would be be a bad alternator, bad connection, or loose alternator belt. If the battery and alt test ok than check the connections to the alt. You may also have a battery drain (something that is staying on and killing the battery)
