Your problem may be as simple as dirty and corroded battery connections and a failing battery. when you hear a click but it dies it is a good sign that some nasty stuff had built up between the cable and the battery post, if left long enough it will eat its way up and into the wire as well.
First open the hood, it will be to the left at the bottom right of the battery next to the trannmssion
REMOVAL 1. Disconnect the negative terminal connnection on your battery. 2. Locate your starter and disconnect the electrical connectors. 3. Remove the starter bolts. INSTALLATION Reverse of removal instructions. Hope this helps
suspect starter relay locate relay and replace temp solution run wire straight to battery from starter make sure in neutral when starting
Follow the positive battery cable from the battery down, the other end will be attached to the starter.
The starter is located at the front right of the engine. It is located between the engine and battery. You can trace the thin cable that runs from the battery to the back of the starter to locate it.
Follow the pos battery cable.
If the starter motor is spinning but not engaging it won't help to hit it with a hammer. The "starter drive" portion of the starter is shot. If all you get is a click or no noise at all, you might get lucky by hitting it, assuming the battery and all connections are good. This technique may work once or twice if the starter is at fault. The starter is located under the vehicle. You can follow the path of the positive battery cable from the battery to locate the starter. The positive battery cable will pass thru the starter solenoid on the inner fender then continue down to the starter.

Follow the thick red cable from the positive terminal on the battery. It leads straight to the starter motor.
Unhook your battery, locate your starter........ which should be behind A/C compressor there are 4 bolts, two in the front and two behind the starter.
Look at the rear lower section of engine - follow the + battery cable
Look at the lower end of the engine - follow the + battery cable
