Well first of all to make sure it's really a night terror you're dealing with you should consult your doctor. Ask him or her to refer you to someone who can perform a sleep study on the peron that is having night terrors. A sleep study is done at a clinic where a doctor monitors your brain waves/ and brain activity during you're sleep. afterwords they usually prescribe some sort of medicine. good luck.
Seek help immediately! Sleep terrors are not a normal thing and should be taken care of. Lack of regular REM sleep will cause significant health problems and the terrors themselves will cause your mental state to deteriorate.
Night terrors are worse than nightmares because they terrorize you in your sleep and can make you physically ill.
Adults affected by night terror episodes should avoid stress, the consumption of alcohol and stimulants before going to sleep.
