moving the distributor will change the firing order. not the timeing.
That sounds like your timing is off. Adjust it at the distributor cap with a timing light.
No.
To adjust ignition timing, first locate the timing marks on the crankshaft pulley and the engine's timing cover. Use a timing light to illuminate these marks while the engine is running at a specified RPM, typically at idle. If the timing is off, you can adjust it by loosening the distributor hold-down bolt and rotating the distributor slightly until the timing marks align correctly. Finally, retighten the hold-down bolt and recheck the timing to ensure it is set accurately.
you rotate the distrubuter with the use of a timing light. I suggest that you get the Clymer manual before you attempt this, as the timing being off can ruin your engine.
To adjust the timing take off the timing cover, take off belt and then line up the marks on the timing gear. You will need a special tool to hold the gears if it is a DOHC(duel over head cam)
The timing is computer controlled, there is no adjustments. I know this is a little late, but timing could be off because the timing belt is not properly aligned. If the timing belt is installed incorrectly the timing will never be right.
how do i adjust the ignition timing on a 1990 suzuki gsx 750f
There is a idle screw on the throttle linkage on the carb that you can turn to increase the idle speed and then hook up your timing light to check the timing.
You cannot adjust timing its done in the ecu
adjust timing 4.3 V8 engine
To adjust the timing chain on a Pontiac Sunfire 2.2, first ensure the engine is off and cool. Remove the timing chain cover to access the timing chain and gears. Align the timing marks on the crankshaft and camshaft sprockets to the specified positions, and if necessary, replace the tensioner or adjust it to ensure proper tension. Reassemble the cover and ensure all components are securely fastened before starting the engine.
The water pump is the tensioner for the timing belt. if you need to adjust it, replace it.
