Check you tranny fluid. If you don't know what to look for, find someone who does. Don't leta mechanic tell you you need a transmission right off the bat, you might not. If the car is low on trans fluid (due to leaks) or the fluid is bad (burnt, contaminated...) You may have the same symptooms. However, If the control units in your transmission that are associated with reverse gear ARE bad, you may need to have the tranny R&R'd (removed and rebuilt).
Reverse, Drive, Low gears
Your forward gears are out in your transmission I recommend you take it to a shop.
Immediately passed the Park position. Neutral separates the Reverse gear and the Drive gears.
Need to know if it is standard or automatic.
i have two answers Park, Reverse, Neutral, Drive 2, 1.when the paddle is in the D or drive gear there is 3 gears plus over drive total of 4 driving forward gears. like 90% of all other cars out there.
Tranny is going out
If Reverse works and Drive doesn't in a Safari Van, the problem is in the transmission. The belts for the forward gears are either stretched too much or broken.
In the Model T transmission, each of the gears does the same work. The clutch is only used during a direct drive. The Triple gears are used to drive in low gear and reverse.
P - Parking R - Reverse N - Neutral D - Drive 2 - High Drive With Gear 2 L or 1 - Low Drive
i have a 92 s-10 blazer and it has no reverse Andy ideas?. it will go in to drive and shift in to all the gears..but will no go into reverse? can u help me
Reverse and forward gears
Yes it does count as a gear because there is park, reverse, neutral -the one we are talking about-,and drive. P.R.N.D. GEARS.
