With many cars now days, the fan may continue to run after the car is shut off, or they may even start and run for a while after the car is shut off. An engine will actually get hotter for a short time after being shut off. Sometimes that will trigger a sensor to turn on the cooling fan.
If it continually runs after being shut off, it could be a faulty temperature sensor, or a faulty fan relay, or even a bad computer.
The combination heat sink and cooling fan is sometimes called a cooler.

As often as needed.
Which fan are you refering too? cooling fanHeater fan
Check your connection with the fan on/off sensor. Should be located somewhere on the thermostat housing. Sometimes if there is no signal, the fan will stay on (failsafe). Could also be the sensor
i'm assuming you mean your computer processor fan. If so, replace it. It's dead!
They should be coded. On mine the relay is the green one under the hood.
Check the fan's fuse in the fuse box. it may be a bad one.
Either the fan is no good or the heat sensor in your radiator, that turns the fan on is not working!!
check your relay for the cooling fan and fuelpump
It could be a number of things . 1st unplug the fan at the plug connection and jump the fan to make sure it works. if that is working while jumping then its either a fuse ,the fan relay or cooling fan switch. if the fan doesn't work after jumping. then its the fan motor.
It's probably an electric fan that reacts and works if the engine reaches a certain temperature. Sometimes that means keeping going for a while even after you shut down the car.
