This is for a 1999 Hyundai Elantra Wagon. The general process may be similar between models, however I am not sure.

1. There is a screw in the middle of each handle, take this screw out and put it somewhere you won't lose it.

2. With the screw removed, the handle can be popped out of the panel about a centimeter.

3. Slide a flat-headed screw driver into the gap you've just created, above the handle. Inside the door there are two metal rods which have a 90 degree bend at the end of them which slides into the handles. There is a plastic clip on each rod that secures it in place on the handle. With the screw driver, pop the clips off of the rods.

4. With the clips off, the rods are held in place within the handles only by friction. The plastic handles are not very strong, so be careful while prying the rods out of the handle.

5. With the rods removed, the handle should be completely removed. To install the new handle, simply trace your steps backwards.
