TEAR IT APART AND THROW THE OLD ONE OUT AND OPUT THE NEW ONE IN
Take it to a repair shop.
Check your hydraulic clutch reservoir to make sure it is full, if it is, it may be bad and need to replace.
You cannot change the compressor bearing, however, you can change the clutch bearing. Which one is bad? Is there a noise when the clutch is engaged, or not engaged?
There is no way 2 adjust the clutch. The only way is 2 replace them. Clutch & pressure plate & throw out bearing, replace them all in one shot!!

Changing the clutch on a 1999 Chevy Cavalier requires remove of the transmission. Once the unit is dropped. Access and loosen the flywheel bolts. Then remove the clutch dish bolts. Pull the clutch off. Installation and reversal of the removal, just be sure the properly bleed the clutch system.
Installed incorrectly, driver who rides the clutch, clutch out of adjustment, weak pressure plate, that should have been replaced along with the clutch.

It may be that your clutch master cylinder is bad, or more than likely one of the internal components within the cylinder, have the clutch master cylinder checked.
Low on freon, faulty pressure switch, faulty clutch. Jumper the low pressure switch with a paperclip (can running, AC on), if the clutch cycles, it's either low on freon, or the low pressure switch is bad.
BAD clutch slave cylinder, wore out clutch and pressure plate.
Make sure clutch, pressure plate, and throw-out bearing are all in alignment
