It's pretty simple. First, you unhook the hydraulic line, and crimp it closed with a pair of vise-grips. Then, you unbolt the only 2 bolts in the cylinder, and remove the old slave cylinder. Next, insert the pressure head of the new one into the slot in the side of the yolk...you may have to compress the cylinder, which easily done by hand. Insert and tighten the 2 bolts, and rehook the line. Lastly, you'll need to bleed the system, since you broke the hydraulic line. Don't forget to drink a couple cold beers in celebration of a job well done. CHEERS!!!

there is no cable, it is a hydraulic system and you probably just need a new slave cylinder or a master cylinder. Both are easy to replace. it could be that you just need fluid in the resovior.....
