no it is hydraulic.dont know what your problem is but check clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder operation,if ok may just be a bad clutch
To replace the clutch slave cylinder on a 1991 Mazda Miata, start by safely lifting the vehicle and removing the driver's side wheel for better access. Disconnect the hydraulic line from the old slave cylinder and remove the two mounting bolts securing it to the transmission. Install the new slave cylinder, ensuring it is properly aligned, then reconnect the hydraulic line and bleed the clutch system to remove any air. Finally, reassemble the wheel and lower the vehicle before testing the clutch operation.
On the passanger side bellhousing.
You will have to remove the transmission since the slave cylinder on the 91 yj is inside the bellhousing.
Inside bell housing. Transmission has to be removed to gain access to the slave cylinder/throw-out bearing.
The clutch slave cylinder is probably at fault. Replacement is necessary to fix problem. Transmission must be removed to gain access to the slave cylinder.
On the firewall , driver side.
the clutch and the brakes share the same master cylinder on my 1991 protege dx 1.8 sohc
BAD clutch slave cylinder, wore out clutch and pressure plate.
I'm pretty sure that on that vehicle the slave cylinder is located inside the transmssion which means the transmission must be removed to replace it
bleed it the same way u bleed the brakes
Check your clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder for leaks,if no leaks, then you need a new clutch kit.
