Unplug the connector and loosed the lock nut. Draw the switch up through the bracket and replace the new one in reverse order.
You may need to adjust the length of the switch plunger by adjusting the lock nut, so that the light stays off, with the pedal at the rest position.

More than likely, you need to replace the stoplight switch. It is not a diificult change. Look under the dash directly where the brake pedal comes in contact with the dash when it is not depressed.
