This airbag issue is part of a recall by Mazda. You should contact your dealer.
The airbag light on a 2003 Mazda Tribute will stay on if a defect is detected in the system. This can include the sensor or the airbag itself which should be immediately repaired.
The airbag light in a 1995 262 will come on when there is an airbag circuit problem. The airbag will not work right in the event of a crash unless the problem is fixed.
Look in the instruction manual!
To reset the airbag light on a 2003 Mazda Tribute, first ensure that the vehicle is off and then disconnect the negative battery terminal. Wait for about 10 minutes to allow any residual power to drain. Reconnect the battery terminal, start the vehicle, and check if the airbag light has turned off. If the light remains on, it may indicate a more serious issue that requires diagnostic tools or professional assistance.
I had this problem a year ago, after I moved the passenger seat back fully. After a few days of the airbag light staying on, I thought to check the wiring under the seat, gave it a wiggle on the connector, and no more problems! The model is a Mazda 3 2.0L sport '54' reg.
To reset the airbag warning light on a 1991 Mazda Miata, first, disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait for about 10 minutes to allow the system to reset. Reconnect the battery terminal, and then turn the ignition key to the "On" position without starting the engine. If the light remains on, it may indicate a persistent issue with the airbag system that requires professional diagnostics. Always consult the vehicle's service manual for specific procedures related to your model.
The airbag warning light is indicating the airbag(s) may NOT be functionig. As it says in the manual, "Ignoring the AIRBAG warning light in your instrument panel could mean you won't have the airbags to protect you, (or your passangers), in a collision...have the airbag system checked RIGHT AWAY." Always wear your seatbelt!!! On my 2004 there is a light on the passanger grab bar that indicates the passanger airbag is off. This happens when a child is in the seat to protect the child from the sudden force of an airbag. It can also be fooled by a package or briefcase on the seat. This is normal. When an adult sits on the passanger side the light should go off. This information was an addition to the 2004 manual.
sounds like your accelerator rod has gone out. that is common in that style of mazda.
it means it needs service check owners manual
There are plugs under the front seats for the air bag wiring. unplug then replug the wires and the light should go out. It worked on my 2002.
If its an option on your car you will be able to look in your owners manual and it will tell you how to do it.
