You must know with reasonable accuracy:
1. The road distance to be driven.
2. The mileage per gallon that the vehicle gets on the road.
3. The price per gallon you will pay for fuel.
Obtain the miles to be driven by consulting a Map, Google or MapQuest or some other trip planning service. Obtain the estimated miles per gallon from experience, the drivers manual and article in Car magazines. Obtain the price for a gallon on the route you are taking on the internet and from local papers.
Road miles divided by vehicle miles per gallon times cost per gallon equals trip cost in total gasoline costs.
That depends on your mileage. Take your vehicle's mileage and divide it into the 1980 mile length of your trip. That will give you your gas consumption - it will tell you how much gas you'll use. Then take that figure and multiply it by the $3.65 which is your per gallon cost, and you'll know what the gas costs to make the trip. 1980 divided by vehicle's mileage equals amount of gas used. Answer from above times $3.65 equals cost of gas for the trip.
$100
It depends on the price of gas at the time of the trip.
Assuming your car gets 25 mpg, and the cost of gas is $2.89 a gallon, a one-way trip would cost you $131.74 in gas. A round trip is $263.48.
If you get 20 miles per gallon and a gallon of gas costs you $2.75, the cost of gas for the trip will be about $201.44
Figure out your gas mileage, then find out how many miles the trip is. Divide the miles by the gas mileage, then multiply that by the price of gas per gallon (which will vary by state)
(70 miles/trip) divided by (1 gallon/19 miles) = (70/19) (miles-gallon/trip-miles) = 3.684 gallons per trip. Now, if we only knew how much you pay for a gallon of gas, we could tell you how much the trip will cost.
To accurately estimate the cost of fuel for your upcoming RV trip using a gas calculator, you will need to know the distance of your trip, the average fuel efficiency of your RV, and the current price of gas. Input these values into the gas calculator to get an estimate of how much you will spend on fuel for your trip.
If your car gets 25 mpg, and the cost of a gallon of gas is $2.77, a one-way trip will cost you $139.89, and $261.78 for a round trip.
Depends on the fuel economy of the vehicle making the trip
If you car gets 25 mpg, and the cost of a gallon of gas is $2.90, the price of the trip is $77.68 for a one-way trip, and $155.36 for a round trip.
