If it makes a loud whining, screaming, or grinding noise, it needs to be replaced. Before you do, verify that it is indeed your alternator and not a pulley or other engine component If you suspect low output is why it's bad, the only way to verify that your alternator is bad is to attach a diagnostics tool, or remove it and take it to a local automotive parts store. Most will bench test your alternator for free.
Voltage regulator built into the Altinator is bad. Replace voltage reg or whole altinator
altinator going bad
how do u lossen the altinator belt on a 91 honda accord
no they have a stator
first romove the altinator belt then from under the car detach the altinator harness connectors then remove the lower bracket then remove the adjusting bolt then last remove the bolts and take the altinator out it might be a little tight but it will come out from under the car
Bad battery? Could be the wiring harness in the charging system. If the replacement alternator was a used part, it might also be bad (yes this has happened to me).
It could possibly be bad ground wires or weak altinator or bad voltage from your battery.
No
eather the battery has a dead cell or if it is farly new and was dead for a period of time in the winter will kill the battery and cause it not to charge.... or it could be the altinator that is bad and not charging
how do I loosen and adjust altinator
altinator
loosen altinator, loosen smog pump, take smog pump belt loose, then take altinator belt over smog pump belt and over fan
