To reset the ECU of a 2000 Dodge Neon, disconnect the negative battery terminal and leave it disconnected for about 15 minutes. This allows the system to reset and clears any stored error codes. Afterward, reconnect the negative terminal and start the car, allowing the ECU to relearn its parameters during normal driving conditions. Make sure to check for any persistent issues that may have triggered the need for a reset.

disconnect the battery for 45mins, with the doors closed. After 45mins reconnect the battery and open the drivers door and you should hear a beep. your ecu will be reset. then take it out for a drive trying to keep to around 2000-2500rpm for the ecu to calibrate to the parameters.
