in the exhaust system
how many oxygen sensors are on a 1997 Mazda mpv lx
There are two. a pre-cat sensor and one further down on the exhaust.
oxygen sensors are located just forward of your engine. In front of the engine is the catalytic converter. At the top at the bottom are your oxygen sensors.
There are typically 4. * Driver Side Cylinder Bank (front) * Passenger Side Cylinder Bank (rear) * Before 3rd Catalytic Converter * After 3rd Catalytic converter
It is the one after the catalytic converter?
The lambda sensors on a Peugeot 206 LX typically include both upstream and downstream oxygen sensors, often manufactured by brands like Bosch or Valeo. These sensors monitor the air-fuel mixture and help optimize engine performance and emissions. It's essential to check the specific model year and engine type for precise sensor specifications.
There are 2 oxygen sensors one upstream and one down stream. Both oxygen sensors are located underneath the van. The down stream oxygen sensor is located behind the cataylic converter near the cross pipe and the upstream oxygen sensor is located in front of the cataylic converter in plain sight. They look like spark plugs with either 8", 12", or 14" wires attached to them. The upstream oxygen sensors is easily located underneath the vechicle to the front. The downstream oxygen sensor is not the one lcoated on or close to the cataylic converter.

Usually, oxygen sensors are installed in the exhaust manifold right after the junction. If it's a 'V' configuration engine (either 6 or 8) there may be 2 oxygen sensors. It's about the only thing that screws in to the exhaust manifold that also has wires.
A 1991 Honda Accord LX has knock sensors which detect incorrect ignition timing. The knocking occurs when the valves open at the wrong time.
