Look for a threaded plug on the transmission. Unscrew it, stick your pinky finger in. If there is fluid on your finger, its full. If not, add until it does.
You add fluid the same place you check the fluid level.
where you check your trans fluid you have to use a funnel tho you don't want trans fluid all over Ur engine compartment
These are designed to be a mechanic only inspection.
Cannot check fluid level. Factory filled and sealed with a preset amount. If there are no leaks, do not worry. If it leaks, after necessary repairs, drain and refill with correct amount.
automatic trans fluid. Mercon works fine.
there is RED CAP on the fill hole it will say TRANS FLUID there is a bolt on passenger side you will remove then check while running to see if fluid runs out. pain to do ..
transmission has worn/bad seals.should have a trans shop check it. Most don't charge to check.
DEXTRON II fluid.
I have a 2000 Malibu and it does not have a tranny dipstick. You have to check fluid under car, there is a check hole on the trans. It's a pain in the butt.
Dextron-II
Check the fluid. If full, take it to the trans shop.
check trans fluid first if low add proper amount remember to check hot as trans fluid expands with heat. if trans fluid is full you probably have the front pump going out or excesssive wear on clutch plates in either case it will probably take an overhaul to repair. I have had good luck prolonging this with lucas trans fluid additive good luck
