Yes it is.
Will it fit? Yes. The physical dimensions and mountings are the same on all small block Chevy's (pre LS-X). The problem will be with the ECM's programming. The 305 's programming won't work with a 350.
If the intake mates up with the heads. then yes. Mating depends on the year of heads.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------It will require bigger injectors and matching ECM however to run optimally.
dont know about the emissions stuff but if your planning to swap engines the ECM will also have to be switched as the 267 ECM will not work on the 305
behind and above the glovebox
might run lean? you could try it and check your plugs or if you hear pinging good sign running lean . if it is mass air set up should compensate for change if speed density will not and need to change ecm or get reflashed
You don't it's controlled by the ECM
1984 Cutlass Supreme in 1984 was a G-body RWD car right? The Gen1 to Gen3 Chevy small block including 350 will fit in any of these cars.Transmission mating:If original engine is Chevy V8 (usually 305 or 350) or Chevy V6 (229) no changes needed. Otherwise, a different bell housing or flywheel or torque converter may be required.Mounting:Go to an auto parts store and ask for motor mounts for your car, specify year make and model. Lie about the engine. Say it's a 305. 350 may not have been available for your car as OE, but 305 is a small block with the same mountings.Carburetor:Use an appropriate Quadrajet for your 350 and ECM to match the carb. Otherwise, a different carb can be used, but most won't provide the same combination of driveability/performance for street/strip applications.Note that a 307 is an Oldslomobile engine and a 231 is a Buick engine both of which may require some minor changes to mountings and transmission mating. An 86 olsmobile only came as a 307 or the smaller v6. If the car already has a bigger olsmobile engine in it then it should already be the same as a Chevy 350 although the numbers may not match (305 is the same as 307.)You should have no problem putting in a 350.
I just did this swap. I had to change the knock sensor and the map sensor. Everything else stayed the same. Works perfect and more power now. The injectors and ecm stayed the same.you may find some answers here at the link below.
NO it will not. You MUST have a 1983 ECM/computer that is programed for that make a model car.
The ecm is the engine control module. I'm not sure what a ecu is.
Yes. It has TBI (throttle body injection) that is run by the ECM (engine control module).
behind the glove box on passenger side...you will have to remove glove box to get to it
