and when you take out the old stuff, what do you intend to do with it? Home AC units do not typically leak the way auto units do, simply because the home unit is sealed. Auto units have an exposed pulley shaft that always leaks a little refrigerant so cars are always putting refrigerant into the air. Homes, however, do not. Just leave it alone until the AC unit fails, then replace everything. Pretty sure there is a leak so that takes care of the 'what to do with the old stuff' issue. Want to fix the leak and heard about the Enviro-Safe products (Google for info) and supposedly it is comapatible with all units (even on top of R-22) and runs at a lower pressure which not only puts less stress on the unit but results in a 20-45% drop in electricity consumption, which is very enticing to me since I live in Florida. Your thoughts? ==Discussion== The stuff you are talking about is probably R-410 which is the new blended refrigerant. This uses a different oil than R-22, so if you make the change you need to blow the current refrigerant lines. 410 runs at higher pressure so I do not know which replacement you are talking about.
Envirosafe sells R22a, a propane based freon that they claim is compatible with R22 systems, but to add this to your system legally you have to first have your system evacuated of reg. freon 22 by a recovery sytem, it is against federal law to release it into the atmosphere as well as mixing different types of freon. The good news is that it costs less than R22, they claim it is more efficient than R22 and you don't need a license to buy it. Although you seem to know what you are talking about just one question what is the difference in reg. FREON and R-22?
a ford fusion does not have freon it has 134r take it to a mechanic
How do you add freon to a 1999 Honda Passport
You take it to a shop. Personal posession of freon in the US is illegal.
There is no freon in a home sprinkler system.
You will definitely lose all of your Freon when you replace the high pressure switch. Once the high pressure switch is loosen the Freon will begin to access the system.
It came with R12 Freon. As R12 is cost prohibitive, have the unit converted to R134a refrigerant or a similar substitute.
Not without conversion.
Freon does not generally need to be replaced. However over time, systems sometimes have a small leak and need to have coolant added. A Freon gauge can confirm if you need to have Freon added.

To replace Freon in an air conditioner, you will need to contact a licensed HVAC technician. They will safely remove the old Freon, check for leaks, and refill the system with the appropriate refrigerant. It is important to hire a professional to ensure the job is done correctly and safely.
