If I recall, a g6 has disc brakes front and rear, and are largely identical to the disc brake systems on most other cars, except for one thing; the rear g6 calipers cannot be compressed manually to fit in the new pads. A special tool is required to compress them. If you don't have that tool, you can't compress the caliper piston. If you can't compress that caliper piston, you can't fit in the new pads. Ask at an auto-parts store for a "Disk Brake Caliper Tool" set. Should be less than 30.00usd depending on the brand they carry.
Note: The g6 *front* brake caliper pistons compress manually, no special tools needed.
you change the brakes, check brakes fluid, bleed the brakes why is hard to stop in a 1988 sliverado?
there may be a problem with the torque converter or there is a short in a wire some where
You will need to change the brakes and rotors on the Honda Civic to see if that fixes them. If not, take the car to a mechanic and have them fix the problem.
I replaced the front brakes on my 92 camaro, it still pulls hard right when u hit the brakes??
What is a wheel oil change???
without a little more information, it's hard to be specific, but it kind of sounds like the brakes are grabbing at the front of the car before they grab in the rear. Or, they're grabbing harder in the front than in the rear. This could be because the rear brakes are shot, because the brakes are mal-adjusted or because the brake system proportioning valve is faulty. In any case, I'd take the car to a brake professional to have it checked.
This link has the manual on how to change the brake pads. http://files.mytouareg.info/autoindex.php
Not to hard to do but you need direction. Get a manual from DISCOUNTAUTOREPAIRMANUALS.COM
Compared to todays modern brake systems they will feel hard. Also depends on if they are power brakes or not. Some cars of that era did not have power brakes and they were very hard to push.
i had it looked at and they said it was the oxygen sensor could that be the problem if so how hard is it to change.
I assume that you mean "brakes", the things that stop the car. Although it isn't hard to change brakes, you can mess it up with potentially disastrous results. Since you ask i this forum, I recommend that either you have a professional do the job or buy the beer for someone experienced in brakes to look over your shoulder while you do the job. --Ken
