EGR stands for exhaust gas recirculation. In order to make cars exhaust cleaner, part of the exhaust gas is recirculated to the intake and reburned in the combustion chamber resulting in a more complete combustion.

The egr position sensor is part of the valve. It does not have a flow sensor.
