A 1991 Buick LeSabre typically uses R-12 refrigerant, also known as dichlorodifluoromethane. However, due to environmental regulations, R-12 is no longer produced, so many owners have converted their systems to R-134a, a more environmentally friendly alternative. If you are servicing the vehicle, it's essential to check what refrigerant is currently in the system or consult a professional for guidance.
car stalls backfires hard to start
Was built for R12, should be converted to R134a
R134a just like all newer cars
2.87 lb of R12 that spec is from the owners manual
It goes in where your dipstick is in the back of motor compartment

Remove one at a time to determine which each controls
On my mom's 1992 buick lesabre the same sort of thing was happening, sometimes heat came on, sometimes a/c and would not shut off once came on, i wound up changing the unit that has the push buttons and fan speed control , it's a complete unit and usally can find one on ebay.
I HAVE THE SAME VEHICLE AND HAD THE SAME PROBLEM... THERE IS A SERVICE BULLETIN FOR THE IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE. THAT SOLVED MY INTERMITANT HIGH IDLE.
I also have the same issue with my 1995 Buick Lesabre. It started happening when I overcharged the battery and now the horn goes off at 2am, 6am, and all hours. I have had to disconnect it at both horns under the hood.
need to know where trannie fliud goes is it same place you check it
