Hesitation and rough idle on a 2001 Volvo S40 can be caused by several factors, including a clogged air filter, faulty spark plugs, or issues with the fuel system, such as a failing fuel pump or dirty fuel injectors. Additionally, problems with the engine's sensors, like a malfunctioning mass airflow sensor or throttle position sensor, can disrupt the air-fuel mixture, leading to rough performance. Vacuum leaks or issues with the ignition system may also contribute to these symptoms. Regular maintenance and diagnostics are essential to identify and resolve the underlying issues.
Hesitation can be caused by several things: 1. A faulty throttle position sensor might cause hesitation. 2. A faulty MAP or MAF sensor might also cause hesitation. 3. A problem with the engine control module might cause hesitation.
Biggest problem I can think of is if they somehow make it past your air filter and get back to your throttle body. May cause rough idle, low idle, hesitation, etc. I would think it would take a lot of leaves to really cause a problem, though.
have you checked your connections on battery they could have come loose it could be something as simple as that
my 1990 300zx is idling rough what could cause this?
accelerator pump inside the carburator
It is important to have a well working car while on the road. The lack of fuel getting to the engine would cause hesitation on acceleration,
Adjust your clutch cable.
There are several things that can cause your 1990 Volvo 740 to stall while driving. The most common cause is a bad fuel pump.
front end alignment or the need for tire and wheel balancing. Balance the wheels first, it costs less.
yes and ignition relay would..
The temp guage could be faulty, where it has gone bad, or the heat sensor itself had gone bad unless the vehicle is actually getting hot. O2 sensor wont cause rough idling but it would cause these types of problems: * Surging and/or hesitation Poor or a decline in fuel econmy Failed exhaust emissions testing Premature failure of the catalytic converter (rotten egg smell) Indicator "idiot" check engine lights coming on
Do you have your terminology right....The injector relay would be the computer right??? The fuel pump relay could cause that problem!!!! good luck and let me know
