usually at the back of the engine around the distributor
It is right behind the distributor.
It is located in the front of the motor just above the starter.
Just read somewhere else that it's at the back of the motor under the distributor.
It does not have a line. It has a oil sending unit on the top right rear corner of the engine block with a electric wire hooked to it. It's about 2 to 3 inches long.
Unplug the electrical connector and slide the OIL SENDING UNIT SOCKET down over it and screw it out. It is a special socket. If you have the room you can screw it out with a pair of pliers.
What size motor?
To change the oil pressure sending unit on a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 4.7L motor, first, ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the negative battery cable. Locate the oil pressure sending unit, which is typically found near the oil filter, and remove the electrical connector and the unit using a wrench. Install the new sending unit, reconnect the electrical connector, and finally, reconnect the battery cable. Check for leaks after starting the engine.
The sending unit is kind of hard to get to. I have a 94 2wd 4.3L v-6 and its under the hood on the back of the motor behind the distributor cap.
