Follow the upper radiator hose to where it connects with the intake manifold, (motor) in the housing the hose connects to, is the thermostat.
Follow the top radiator hose to where it connects to the motor. In this housing, is the thermostat.

The thermostat for a 1999 Chevy Camaro V6 engine can be found under the hood. It is in the right side of the engine, under the throttle sensor.
Not unless it is on the thermostat housing.

To replace the thermostat in a 1997 Camaro Z28, first ensure the engine is cool, then disconnect the negative battery cable. Drain the coolant from the radiator, and remove the upper radiator hose from the thermostat housing. Unscrew the thermostat housing, take out the old thermostat, and clean the mating surfaces. Install the new thermostat with the spring facing down, reattach the housing, and reconnect the hose and battery before refilling the coolant.
To install a thermostat on a 1995 Camaro, first, ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the negative battery terminal. Drain the coolant from the radiator, then remove the upper radiator hose to access the thermostat housing. Take out the old thermostat, clean the mating surfaces, and place the new thermostat into the housing, ensuring it's oriented correctly. Reassemble everything, refill the coolant, and reconnect the battery.

Drain the radiator into a container. Remove the upper hose at the engine end. Remove the 2 bolts in the thermostat housing and remove the thermostat. Clean the surfaces and install the thermostat and housing. Install the upper hose and refill the radiator.
