If you are getting gas and rapidly getting rid of it (or burning it) or if your car is broken.
I would suspect fuel pump failure.
More than likely the sending unit in the fuel tank is faulty.
Fuel delivery problems.
No fuel in tank; clogged line at/in the fuel tank; clogged fuel filter; carburetor needle valve is closed, fuel float stuck closed. Disconnect fuel line at carb, if you have fuel there, the problem is at the needle valve or float; if no fuel. the problem liies between the carb and the tank, next methodical check would be the fuel filter, etc.
Could be,Faulty check valve in the fuel pump,Faulty or dirty needle and seat in carb,Faulty or out of adjustment fuel float in carb,
A clogged fuel filter can restrict or prevent fuel flow. This would starve the engine of fuel, and cause it to shut down due to lack of fuel.
Fuel starvation. Blocked air/fuel filters. Fuel pump delivery rate wrong or carburetor needle valve stuck.
Could be,Faulty check valve in the fuel pump,Faulty or dirty needle and seat in carb,Faulty or out of adjustment fuel float in carb,
Yes , if the button has popped up then no power is going to the electric fuel pump , and the switch would have to be reset by pushing the button DOWN
Needle valve and seat leaking in the carburetor causing fuel to leak into the cylinders when you park the car overnight. Replace the needle valve and seat. Better yet overhaul the carb. Can also be a hole in the fuel pump diaphragm. That would require replacing the fuel pump.
Buildup of gum and/or varnish or foreign contaminants.
Well, a fuel injector isn't a needle, it's a solenoid valve. They are located on the intake manifold.
