Oldsmobile used to make a 307 V8, but it has nothing in common with a Chevy V8.
yes
rev the engine to about 2500 rpm's and turn the distributor until you find that sweet spot.
To rebuild the distributor on a 1987 Chevy 305, start by removing the distributor from the engine. Once removed, take off the cap and rotor, and inspect or replace the ignition module and pickup coil if necessary. Clean all components, replace worn parts, and reassemble the distributor. Finally, reinstall the distributor, ensuring it is properly timed with the engine.
It should be in the back of the engine, just to the drivers side of the distributor.
305 is the same distributor as a 350 will even fit some big block chevy's.
maybe check for a worn CAM LOB.
