To remove the front seats from a 1990 Olds 98, first, slide the seat all the way forward to access the rear mounting bolts. Use a socket wrench to remove these bolts, then slide the seat backward to expose the front bolts and remove them as well. Disconnect any electrical connectors if the seats are powered, and carefully lift the seat out of the vehicle. Make sure to have someone assist you, as the seats can be heavy and cumbersome.
Look under your seats the rails for moving the seat back and forth there will be some bolts that go into the floor. Simply take out the bolts and make sure to unclip any wires so not to damage them, and this should do it.
they both have to be front or rear wheel drive, you cant do it if one is front, and the other is rear

It just bolts into the floor. IIRC, it should be four bolts through the brackets in the base of the seats. Unbolt them, and it'll pull right out.
You need a 3/8 Allen key.
Remove the positive cable from your 1997 Oldsmobile battery. Remove the starter cables from the front of the starter. Remove the starter retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new starter.
