ANY GM SMALL BLOCK WILL FIT. I HAVE PUT A SMALL BLOCK CHEVY ENGINE IN A 280Z A 260Z AND A 300ZX.THEY WERE MATED TO AN AUTOMATIC EXCEPT FOR THE 260Z THAT RECEIVED A DOUG NASH 5 SPEED. THE SPEED AND POWER IS UNREAL.
and would i have to buy el camino parts for Chevy 1500 tranny or would i buy Chevy 1500 parts for the tranny?
If the blazer had a v8 in it No if it had a 2.8 or a 4 cylinder Yes if it had a 4.3 engine.
I believe that all small block v-8's until 1980 should fit no problem,I swapped a straight 6 out of my nova to a small block 400, and just recently a small block 350,
The Chevy small block is exactly that: one block... with many different piston sizes: 305, 350, 400, 502, etc... None of which will drop into a 95 and later Monte which is designed to hold a 60 degree V6. Lots of modification will need to be done.
NV3500 for small block, NV4500 for big block.
The header manufacturers make a braket that straddles over the front header tube, and will allow you to mount it there. See your local speed shop.
Depends on which big block, what vehicle it is installed in, and the speed you are driving.
As far as I know GM did not start using gov's., until mid 2000, with the new motors. It is part of the computer.
Check with your favorite retailer such as Summit, Jeg's, or you local speed shop for availability. You could also check with manufacturer's websites such as Edelbrock or Weiand.
