I had my nose pierced for 2 days and accidentally pulled it out. It was too swollen still to get the L bend jewelry around the corner, so I thought I would have to get it re-pierced. The piercer said to wait 2 days until the swelling went down a bit and she would try and get the jewelry in without re-piercing with a needle etc.

So it came out on the Sunday and I got it put back in on the Tuesday...it was a bit tricky and hurt more than the original piercing but she got it. (She used a longer, thicker L bend the 2nd time.)

It had sort of started to close up (you could barely see the hole on the outside) and as she re-did it I felt the 3 pops.

I'd say that too much longer than that and there would be no way she could get the blunt stud through, she would have to re-pierce it. I was told that if they couldn't get the stud back in it was best to leave it a few weeks to heal before sticking another needle through it.

So you probably shouldn't wait any longer than 2 or 3 days. Sorry about the long reply, but I you or someone else.

Can a naval piercing close up in short amount of time?

Most piercings that are fresh will close up within a matter of an hour to a few hours of the jewelry being out, and even a well healed piercing will close up after a few days of no jewelry being worn...unless the piercing is stretched, but even then, you have at most two to three days of wearing nothing before it begins to shrink.

Can you take out your lip piercing after 3 or 4 days?

If you are wanting the piercing to close, then yes. Four days is just a tad bit too soon to take the jewelry out, and the fistula will close up within a matter of a few hours. Best to wait about a month after having it done to change the jewelry out for the smoothest results.

How long do cheek piercings last without the piercing?

Without the jewelry to keep the piercing open, a cheek piercing will generally close within a few weeks. It can even happen in a few days if the piercing has not been there for a long period of time.

Had your eyebrow pierced for 1 year will it close in 4 days?

That depends on your body really. So don't leave the jewelry out unless you accept the risk that the piercing might close. You could always try a retainer

Will your lip piercing close after 4 weeks?

If you've had the piercing for only four weeks then yes, it will close relatively quickly. My lip piercing was two years old and closed up in only a few days, leaving a small scar. If you don't want it to close but do want it to go unnoticed look into piercing retainers.

Lip piercing how do you know when it is healed?

Depending on the person and location of the piercing, it can take anywhere between 2 weeks to 6 months for a lip piercing to heal. After the first 2 weeks you can change the jewelry if no infection is present. Piercers use a 14 gauge needle when piercing, so you might want to down size to a 16 gauge. To test if your piercing is fully healed (this should only be done if there is no infection. Infections mean the wound is not healed), then try removing the jewelry for 5 minutes and put it back in. If you have no trouble putting the jewelry back in and the hole has not begun to close, then try leaving it out for 20 minutes. If the hole doesn't show signs of it closing, then gradually lengthen the time the jewelry is out. A fully healed lip piercing will stay pierced even after leaving the jewelry out for a few days. There will always be a small bit of discharge around your piercing. Healthy discharge will be white, not yellow or pus-like.

How long will it take a Rook piercing to close after being pierced for over two years?

The closure time of a Rook piercing after being pierced for over two years can vary depending on individual factors such as skin elasticity, scar tissue formation, and jewelry size. Generally, cartilage piercings like the Rook can close relatively quickly compared to other piercings due to the lack of blood flow to the area. However, after two years, the piercing may start to close more slowly as the tissue has fully healed and adapted to the presence of the jewelry. It's recommended to consult with a professional piercer or healthcare provider for personalized advice on Rook piercing closure.

How long does it take a piercing to close after 12 months?

it depends on the type of piercing and the size of the piercing. If it's a small gauge it will close within a few days, larger gauge a weeks. Just wash the piercing remove the jewellery and clean the area when bathing normally. It will close when it feels like it, you just need to leave it alone.

How long does an eyebrow piercing take to close up if you dont like it?

If the piercing is 24 hours old it will close quite quickly (generally a few days to knit up), the longer the piercing has been kept with the jewellery in it the longer it will take to heal up. So if you don't like the piercing, get the jewellery out fairly quick and you should be good in a few days.

How fast does it take for dimple piercings to close?

It depends on how fast your body heals and how new the piercing is. But even piercing that have been done for years can close in minutes. So there really isn't a way to tell how long it takes. So I would try to put jewelry in asap if you want them pierced.

How long before a piercing closes?

It depends on how long you have had the piercing. if its new about a couple mins to an hour maybe depends on the body part you put the piercing. if you had it for a while it could take a couple days to close or a month
