Animal-like because they exhibit some behaviors seen in animals.
Chytrids were classified with protists because they exhibit characteristics of both fungi and protists, such as having flagellated spores and a similar mode of reproduction. However, they are now considered part of the kingdom Fungi due to genetic evidence showing their evolutionary relationship with other fungi.
Protists include unicellular, colonial and multicellular organisms Most protists are unicellular although (only one group) can be multicellular. There are types of algae, green algae known as Ulva, that are multicellular protists. They begin as colonies of unicellular protists known as Volvax, but the ones that break away are the multicellular version. The multicellular protists are without any specialized tissues. Protists used to be considered soley unicellular. Now that the molecular information has been redifined, protists are both unicellular and multicellular. .
It is misguided to try to find our eukaryotic ancestor among modern-day protists because the Protists living today have been through a process of evolution just as extensive as the one that produced every other living organism.
The very first protists are believed to have been simple unicellular organisms known as "protozoa." These early protists likely evolved around 1.5 billion years ago and played a crucial role in the early diversification of life on Earth.
Protists can be both beneficial and harmful. Some protists such as Plasmodium, malaria causing protist, can be harmful because they cause diseases. Other protists such as Trichonymphs, breaks down wood that is digested by termites, can be beneficial.
non-native ecologies.
Russians have sometimes been referred to as "Ruskies". This is not a deeply offensive term, but it will have to do.
it might of been his nickname
Hot dogs have been called franks, wieners, wienies, dogs, and frankfurters. They have also sometimes been referred to as sausages. In the German language they are a type of wurst.
Russians have sometimes been referred to as "Ruskies". This is not a deeply offensive term, but it will have to do.
Many protists do not leave fossils:)
Classification of natural species is pretty confusing and sometimes arbitrary. The rules originally used have in some cases been shown to overlap and refute themselves. Also, the term pond scum, can be ambiguous. Sometimes cyanobacteria are called pond scum. They belong to the Kingdom Monera. Other times you may have different types of algae called pond scum, those are indeed classified as protists. So I would say that some kinds of pond scum are protists, and some are bacteria.
Yes, protists live in ponds. I think so. I have been trying to figure it out for my science homework and I think they do.
In the south, a Laundromat is sometimes referred to as a "Laundry Mat."Depends on how many generations have been saying it that way, and depends on how strong your accent!
The Atlantic Ocean is also referred to as the "Atlantic Sea." Historically, it has been called the "Mare Atlanticum" in Latin and is sometimes simply referred to as "the Atlantic." Additionally, in certain contexts, it may be associated with the term "Western Ocean."
Robin Hood was sometimes referred to as Robin of Locksley. As Robin Hood was associated with Barnsdale in South Yorkshire, England then it must have been in that area. There is no such place today.
Psychophobia, sometimes referred to as mentalism, is a form of discrimination or bias against someone who has been diagnosed with a mental condition. A more common term for this may be sanism.
