Since your bone's ends (i.e. where the joint is) are covered by a thin capsule filled with lubricating fluid (i.e. synovial fluid), the popping noise happens when nitrogen bubbles trapped in the fluid create a vacuum, much like a sonic boom, during joint movements.
It is likely that you crack your joints on a regular basis. The "popping" sound is nitrogen escaping from the sinovial fluid which surrounds the joints. It's not harmful, yet it is an unpleasant habit. Try to stop cracking, and the popping noise should cease. There is no other treatment, unfortunately.
Regular exercise, flexibility training, good hydration, avoid sitting or staying still for long periods.
i have tmj, how do i stop it from poping
Well, when they 'pop' or 'crack', it is usually the result of forcing joint fluid (synovial fluid) out of the bursa (sac that surrounds joint) and it makes a popping sound. Creaking, especially if accompanied with some level of discomfort, can be from wearing down of the cartilage, that protects the bone part of the joint. Once this padding goes away, it is just bone against bone and it creaks.
Popping of the chest is caused by the cavitation of the ribbones connection to the sternum. The sternum is the large bone section at the front center of the ribcage structure. Along either side of the sternum the coastal cartilage (plural) connect the rib and the sternum. Where these connections meet the sternum are joints similar to those of the rest of the body. At these points (as in your fingers) your bones can pop or undergo cavitation (the rupturing of separated of gas bubbles mixed into fluids, resulting in the popping sound).
Joints may be synovial (with a cavity) or fibrous. Synovial joints are filled with synovial fluid. Fibrous joints lack this. Fibrous joints are found in between the vertebrae. Cartilage in is both joints. This can be hylaine or fibrocartilage. Both regenerate. The synovial fluid is rather slippery and allows easy movement in those joints. If this joint is suddenly and rapidly pulled, the fluid doesn't fill quickly and a "snapping" sound is heard.
to make something numb or to get rid of it?
NO! Popping your knuckels just pushes the joint out and back into its normal postition. The sound that comes from popping them comes from the gas of the fluid that is between the bones as they are poppin in the fluid. It wont make your knuckles larger, but you might make your grip weaker if you do it too much cause it can start causing problems, such as arthritis.
bad axle joint or ball joints and turn stops can make popping
It can make a crackling or popping sounds as wood burns.
many popping sounds of those can mean you will be in the cold water with the fish sooner or later.
That is doubtful. It sounds like you have a 4x4 vehicle and the front CV axles (or U-joints depending on how it is set up) are bad. typically you can first detect the joints going bad when turning in reverse. After a while, you will begin noticing the popping while driviing forward and turning if not repaired.
Snap, Crackle and Pop.
Tiny bubbles of gas, which is made of nitrgen and oxigen build up in the joints. It is these you hear popping to make the cracking sound.
Need to check u-joints first. Then look at the shock bushings, and make sure there not loose.
I think your shocks are sticking or getting stuck as they move up and down. You probably need to replace them. It could also be that one of the components of the suspention is loose or worn out so check all of the bushings and ball joints.
if its a quiet type popping that comes out of their mouth or nose then they are congested. Possibly because of poor habitat cleanliness or they are coming down with a respiratory infection.
old age&joints out of wack
When they are in a state of utter terror, they will squeal/scream. However, defensive sounds are popping, clicking, hissing, and growling.
most popping sounds from the front end of these vehicles happens when you make a sharp turn and hit a bump and that's most commonly control arm bushings
