* Hmm, that's weird. A year before I had a painful lump, but it was on my neck. I learned it was a swollen lymph node,and the doctor suggested to my mom to have them surgically removed. I don't know why they were swollen, or why they could'nt wait for them to go back to normal, but they were painful. I think I also had a high fever. It was hard, and would move around a lot,when I touched. When they were removed eveythink was better, no more lumps I don't think lymph nodes form on the back, but they might. It could be an infection or added stress. If you have a human anatomy book, look at the back area to see if ir has lymph nodes. I hope it's nothing serious, because really that's what mine came out to be. I don't even think I needed surgery.
