Dehydration Synthesis, also called a condensation reaction, a dehydration reaction or just condensation.
During protein synthesis, peptide bonds are formed through a process called condensation reaction. This reaction occurs between the carboxyl group of one amino acid and the amino group of another amino acid, resulting in the formation of a peptide bond and the release of a water molecule. This process is catalyzed by enzymes called ribosomes.
Photosynthesis is called an oxidation-reduction process because it involves the reduction of carbon dioxide to glucose (an energy-rich molecule) coupled with the oxidation of water to produce oxygen. During this process, electrons are transferred from water to carbon dioxide, resulting in a redox reaction that is essential for creating energy for the plant.
The process used to combine fatty acids and glycerol is called esterification. During esterification, a chemical reaction forms ester bonds between the fatty acids and glycerol molecules, resulting in the formation of triglycerides.
In molecular biology techniques, DNA is amplified through a process called polymerase chain reaction (PCR). PCR involves heating the DNA to separate its two strands, then using a special enzyme called DNA polymerase to make copies of the DNA strands. This process is repeated multiple times, resulting in a significant increase in the amount of DNA.
From the plant - "tapping" rubber sap.
The substances that are diminished in a chemical reaction are called reactants. These reactants undergo a transformation during the reaction, resulting in the formation of new substances known as products. The reactants are consumed as they participate in the chemical process.
The process by which substances change into new substances is called a chemical reaction. During a chemical reaction, bonds between atoms are broken and new bonds are formed, resulting in the production of different substances with unique properties.
The reaction of hydrogen (H2) and propene using a platinum catalyst is called hydrogenation. This process involves the addition of hydrogen atoms to the carbon-carbon double bond in propene, resulting in the formation of propane.
This reaction is called a neutralization reaction.
The process of changing reaction rates is called catalysis. Catalysis involves the use of a substance (catalyst) to increase the rate of a chemical reaction without being consumed in the process.
In a chemical reaction, two or more substances called reactants react, resulting in substances called products.
In a chemical reaction, two or more substances called reactants react, resulting in substances called products.
This process is called a chemical reaction. During a chemical reaction, bonds between atoms are broken and new bonds are formed, resulting in the creation of new substances with different properties from the original substances.
A catalyst is a substance that speeds up the rate of a chemical reaction.
In a chemical reaction, two or more substances called reactants react, resulting in substances called products.
