Depending on how severe your tonsillitis is , you may have some of the following symptons: Sore throat ( feels like you're swallowing glass), headaches, fever, swollen glands, and sometimes you will sleep for long periods of time. B. B. N. A. Tonsillitis is a case of sore throat (swollen and inflamed tonsils) it is usually viral but can also be caused by Strep. It is easily cured with an antibiotic (if bacterial). If you have frequent recurring episodes or your tonsils stay enlarged and obstruct your throat, you may need to get your tonsils removced, they usually do this if you've had more than 3 episodes within 1-2 years and yes it is like swallowing glass but after a couple of days on the antibiotics your throat should be feel better. It can also be caused by mononucleosis and even rarely by gonorrhea. It is contagious. Barney9
No everybody has tonsils. But if they get infected then you're sick. I had my tonsils taken out because they were infected not everyone gets infected tonsils but its better if you get tonsilitus (infected tonsils) when you're a kid because its more dangerous to get then surgically removed when you're older.
The tonsils are in the back of your mouth, technically in the pharynx. If you look in the mirror, they are those curvy parts of tissue that are on either side of your uvula. (the punching bag looking thing that hangs from your soft palate)
Palatine tonsils and adenoids are NOT synonymous. Palatine tonsils, sometimes called faucial tonsils, are found at the back of the throat. Adenoids are the pharyngeal tonsils, located in the back of the nasal cavity.
There are FIVE pairs of tonsils in the pharynx or throat, though the exact number will differ depending on the textbook:Nasal (lymphatic tissue in the nose)Adenoids/Pharangeal/Luschka (nasopharynx)Palatine (oropharynx)Tubal (pharynx side of the auditory tubes)Lingual (oropharynx)Note: the cerebellar tonsil is a structure in the brain.
No, if you have no tonsils then you cannot have inflamed tonsils.
The tonsils go all swollen and the tonsils also get white Stuff on them

Those are likely the tonsils, which are part of the immune system and help to protect the throat from infections. There are two tonsils, one on each side of the throat, and they can sometimes become swollen or infected, causing symptoms like sore throat or difficulty swallowing.
Tonsils are organs like your tongue. They do not spread. What can be spread is infection of the tonsils called tonsillitis. This infection a strept throat and this bacteria can be spread from one person to another like a cold would.
Near the tonsils are structures like the pharynx, lymph nodes, and the posterior part of the tongue. Additionally, the palatine tonsils are close to the soft palate and the uvula in the back of the throat.
Teeth grinding in children has nothing to do with having enlarged adenoids and tonsils. If a child is grinding their teeth, it is simply a bad habit.
Yes!!! they have palatine tonsils in the oropharynx located in the sides of their throat. See related link below.
Bad tonsils themselves do not directly rot your teeth, but they can contribute to oral health issues. Chronic tonsillitis or infected tonsils can lead to bad breath and oral bacteria that may affect overall oral hygiene. If these bacteria proliferate, they can contribute to tooth decay and gum disease. Maintaining good oral hygiene and addressing any tonsil issues with a healthcare professional can help prevent these complications.
