Capitals are generally used to denote the dominant trait. In homozygous dominant individuals, genotype RR, the phenotype will be R. In homozygous recessive individuals, genotype rr, the phenotype will be r and in heterozygous individuals, genotype Rr, the phenotype will be R.

In this case the only phenotype that the organism is going to exhibit is R, this can be seen by conducting a punnet square cross,

Therefore the possible genotypes that can be generated in this cross are RR with a frequency of 50% and Rr with a frequency of 50%.

But if R is dominent to r then the only characteristic that you'll see exhibited in the organism is the R characteristic.
