I'm a male and having the same problem whenever I take multivitamins. My tongue gets sore after a few days later. And now I'm taking vitamin C tablets and I get the same reaction. It's weird and I'm trying to find out why. Because I'm an Asian or Chinese, I was told that Western tablets is consider hot for your body (like when you eating something deep fried and you get it). I'm not sure that's the case. I told my friends about my tongue reaction after taking these tablets and they told me might be my body allergic to something in the tablets because Multi has a lot of vitamins and might be one of those cause it. I'm trying to figure out so I can avoid this problem and able to continue to take vitamins. Please advice thanks.

What is the treatment for macular amyloidosis?

Take Omega-3 fatty acids to help diminish the inflammation from the irritated, itchy lesions associated with amyloidosis. Omega-3 fatty acids may also hinder the formation of new lesions. Consume foods like tuna, halibut, salmon, krill, algae, purslane, and nut oils. Eat these at least two times weekly. Take 1,000-mg capsules of Omega-3 fatty acids one to two times daily. Do not consume more than 3 g of the supplement, because it can increase your chances of bleeding. Take two to three weeks before you note the benefits of supplement consumption. Use caution when taking Omega-3 supplements, especially if you bruise easily, have a bleeding disorder, and are using anticoagulants; consuming high doses can lead to bleeding. Taking Omega-3 supplements may cause bloating, belching, flatulence, and diarrhea. If you have diabetes, consult with a physician before taking Omega-3 fatty acids; it may affect your glucose levels. Omega-3 fatty acids may interfere or interact with aspirin, warfarin, clopedigrel, glipizide, glyburide, glucophage, insulin, cyclosporine, etretinate, topical steroids, atorvastatin, lovastatin, simvastatin, nonsteroidal anti- inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen and naproxen. 3. Vitamin C Your body may require high doses of vitamin C to help your body break down amyloidal deposits and hinder the formation of amyloidal lesions. Vitamin C is rich in antioxidants and it can destroy free radicals that threaten the integrity of cell structures. Obtain vitamin C from a variety of food sources including blueberries, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cantaloupe, cauliflower, citrus juices, cranberries, grapefruit, green peppers, juices fortified with vitamin C, kiwi, mangos, oranges, papaya, pineapple, potatoes, raspberries, red and green peppers, spinach, strawberries, tomatoes, turnip greens, watermelon, and winter squash. Men over 18 require 90 mg of vitamin C daily, and females over 18 need 75 mg of vitamin C a day. Breastfeeding females need as much as 120 mg daily for optimal health. Consume 2,000 mg of vitamin C in supplement form to deal with macular amyloidosis. Drink water with vitamin C supplements; this vitamin acts as a diuretic and consuming water will prevent dehydration. Do not use vitamin C if you have hemochromatosis; vitamin C increases iron levels in your blood. Taking more than 2 mg of vitamin C a day can lead to gastrointestinal upset. Vitamin C levels in your body can be diminished by smoking, and through the use of aspirin and nonsteroidal anti- inflammatory drugs. Vitamin C consumption may also interact or interfere with acetaminophen, aluminium- containing antacids, barbiturates, chemotherapy drugs, nitrate medications, oral contraceptives, protease inhibitors, tetracycline, and warfarin.

What is happening with the cells start to swell up with water?

The chemical concentration inside the cell is greater than outside therefore water moves by osmosis into the swell and causes it to swell. If this continues beyond a certain point the cell can lyse (burst).

How does large doses of vitamin c induce your period?

Vitamin C: Taking a few Vitamin C tablets a day helps in inducing menstration. Vitamin C helps by starving the uterus of progesterone, which then helps in breaking down the uterus walls and results in bringing on menstration. Remember that high dosages of Vitamin C tablets can cause problems so only a few tablets should be taken.

What are vitamin tablets?

First, let's talk about vitamins. You can't see them, but you can see the effect they have on your health. Vitamins are organic compounds contained in food. Some vitamins promote healthy skin, or healthy eyes, or healthy bones. But if you do not eat a balanced diet (fruits, vegetables, dairy products, etc), you may be deficient in certain vitamins. If your body does not have enough of these substances, your health will suffer. Vitamin tablets are a way to add extra vitamins to your diet. In theory, this is a good thing-- for example, in some cultures, people do not have access to a balanced diet and so they eat too much starch or too much grain and not enough fruits and vegetables. Vitamin tablets (also called "vitamin pills" or "vitamin supplements") add the extra vitamins your diet may lack. But some doctors have become skeptical about vitamin tablets. They believe if you eat a balanced diet, you should already have enough of the vitamins you need and not require taking extra supplements. Thus, while taking a daily vitamin tablet is probably not harmful, taking too much of certain vitamins can cause unexpected problems. The best thing to do is get a physical from your doctor or nurse practitioner; he or she can test you to see if you have any vitamin deficiencies. If you do, you can then take extra vitamin tablets to improve your health.

Why is taking fresh fruit and vegetables from vitamin c better than taking tablets?

Well, it's better to eat fruit, and see if you get the decent amount of vitamin C that you want, instead of taking a risk of eating a tablet for it, and get sick or something. Hope this helps! : ) -Your Average Advanced-Content 6th Grader
