Why is the pituitary gland referred to as the master gland in the body?

Because it handles, controlls, and exchanges all chemicals needed for the brain and body. Without it all chemicals would go coo-coo and your body would not function. It is essential for controlling testostirone, estrogen, and progesterone, the chemicals needed for pregnancy and repoduction.

But now the case is not same.becoz it is itself undr the contrl of hypophysics.so pitutary is not the so called master gland.
