An original remain is an actual part of an organism that is preserved in one of these 3 ways:

  • Ice: One of the best ways to preserve a specimen, ice will keep the body, organs, tissues, or even hair in tact for millions of years.
  • Amber: If you have ever seen "Jurassic Park" you may know about this. Millions of years ago some unlucky bugs or mosquitoes were trapped in some tree sap. After millions of years the sap turns into a stone called amber, that preserves the insects.
  • Tar: Tar is a thick, oily, liquid that is very sticky. Similar to amber, some unfortunate larger animals, such as saber-toothed tigers, got trapped in the tar and died. After a while the bones of the creature are preserved, but the flesh and tissue is not.

What they all have in common is that they all have been preserved in some way. Making them the "original remain" of the creature that was preserved.

Original remains mean the things of the past which remained and were original. In the past years people have made things and used them. Or animals and humans died leaving their bones under the ground or preserving their whole body under thick layers of ice. These remained by the support of nature and later the more developed people found these remains. They studied them carefully by which they discovered that these were original and found their properties. These were kept in museums for people attraction and named them as original remains with their real meanings.
