The molar mass of H2O is about 18.02 grams.

It can be calculated by adding up the atomic masses. For example, in H2O, there are 2 atoms of Hydrogen and 1 atom of Oxygen. the atomic mass of 1 Hydrogen atom is 1.008u and that of Oxygen is 16u. So, if you multiply 2 with 1.008 you get the mass of Hydrogen in the water molecule as there are 2 atoms of Hydrogen. 2*1.008=2.016. Adding this to 16, you get the molar mass of water, 16+2.016=18.016 which is equal to 18.02 grams.

The compound that has a mass of 18 grams?

Water (H2O) has a molar mass of 18 grams, if that's what you mean.

Mass of a mole?

The molar mass of an element is its atomic weight in grams. The molar mass of a molecule or compound is the sum of the subscripts times the molar masses in grams. For example, the molar mass of hydrogen, H, is 1.00794g and the molar mass of oxygen, O, is 15.9994g. The molar mass of water, H2O, is (2 x 1.00794g) + (1 x 15.9994g O) = 18.01528g.

What is the gram formula mass for H2O?

The gram formula mass for H2O is 18.015 g/mol.

Molar mass of 158g of ice?

The molar mass of ice is 18.015 g/mol. To find the number of moles in 158g of ice, divide the mass by the molar mass: 158g / 18.015 g/mol = 8.77 moles.

What is the molcular mass of water?

Molar mass of H2O = 18.01528 g/mol

What is a molar mass and what is it used for?

The molar mass is the sum of atomic weight of the atoms contained in a molecule. Example: water, H2O The molar mass is: 2 x 1,008 + 15,999 = 18,015 Molar mass is used in many calculus in chemistry.

Find the molar mass of 7H2O?

The molar mass of water is approximately 18.015 g/mol. Therefore, the molar mass of 7H2O would be 7 * 18.015 = 126.105 g/mol.

What compound has a molar mass of 18 grams?

Water. Remember the equation Moles = mass(g) / Mr (Relative Molecular Mass) So Molar Mass(g) is = to moles X Mr. or Mr = mass(g) /moles Since ther mass is 18 g and molar mass is 1 mole Then substitute Mr = 18g / 1 = 18 So referring to the Periodic Table. for elements with an atomic below 18 . We have oxygen at 16 and hydrogen at 1 So 16 + 1 + 1 = 18 . Hence oxygen + 2 hydrogen = water (H2O).

What is the molar mass of H2O to the nearest whole number?

How many moles are in 19.58 g?

To find the number of moles, first determine the molar mass of the substance. Let's use the molar mass of water (H2O) as an example: 1 mole of water = 18.015 g. Then, divide the given mass by the molar mass to get the number of moles. So, for 19.58 g of water, the number of moles would be 19.58 g / 18.015 g/mol = 1.09 moles.

How many moles of water molecules h2o are present in a 27 rams sample of water?

To find the number of moles of water molecules in a 27 gram sample, you need to divide the mass by the molar mass of water (18.015 g/mol). 27 g / 18.015 g/mol = approximately 1.5 moles of water molecules.

What is the percentage of water in the hydrate CoCl2 and 6H2O Show your work?

To find the percentage of water in CoCl2ยท6H2O, calculate the molar mass of water (18.015 g/mol) and the molar mass of the whole compound. Molar mass of CoCl2ยท6H2O = 129.84 g/mol (CoCl2) + 6(18.015 g/mol) = 237.89 g/mol Now, compute the percentage of water: Percentage of water = (6 * 18.015 g/mol) / 237.89 g/mol * 100% โ‰ˆ 54.5% Therefore, the hydrate CoCl2ยท6H2O contains approximately 54.5% water.
