This effect has nothing to do with the magnet sticking to the side of the copper. Magnets will only stick to ferromagnetic substances such as iron and steel, not copper.
The actual physics of this experiment is more subtle. The magnet falling down the tube results in a changing magnetic field within the copper tube. This changing magnetic field produces a current within the tube. That current creates a new magnetic field within the tube which slows down the magnet.
cork, the air inside the cork isolates. (air when trapped inside a vesicle is a great isolator)
The soda will squirt out because of increased agitation.
Modern US cents are made of copper plated zinc. Starting midway through 1982 the penny switched from bronze to copper plated zinc. So if you have a penny dated 1983-present you for sure have a penny with zinc on the inside.
During the distillation process, sulfuric gas is emitted into the ethyl alcohol vapor. Copper reacts with the sulfur, creating Copper Sulfide, which gets created on the inside of the copper boiler. Since copper is a metal, it is also easily molded and a great conductor of heat. The copper tube needs to stay cold to condense the etyhl alcohol vapor back into liquid form.

No, the copper is on the outside of the pan and does not effect the food on the inside.
