Why is it that sodium metal would not be a good material for drinking glasses?

Sodium is a very highly reactive metal:
- contact with water or anything containing water would release hydrogen gas which could ignite
- contact with anything containing fatty acids (e.g. human skin) would turn the fatty acids to soaps
- contact with air would cause oxidation of the sodium and release of hydrogen gas (there is water vapor in air)
- If released hydrogen ignited the sodium metal would melt and run into things!!!
- etc.
