Dear Oprah Winfrey RE: Violet's Silk Memorial Blankets Annetta Shaw Simpson made her first Memorial Blanket three years ago after her dear mother, Violet, passed away. The interior designer wanted to do something special for her mother, who lived with her, so she designed a blanket filled with roses which covered her casket with elegance, warmth and love. These custom silk floral blankets will last forever. The fresh flower sprays on caskets eventually wilt away. Violet's blankets are sometimes buried with the loved one and some families keep them as memorial keepsakes. Annetta did something special for the Cantu family of Tracy, CA. when they lost their darling 8 year old daughter, Sandra, on April 6, 2009 due to a tragedy which was felt worldwide. Annetta designed and presented a pink floral blanket for little Sandra's casket. Mother Wright of Oakland , CA was recently called home and once again, Annetta was able to bless the family of Mother Wright with a blanket created with love and filled with an element of peace and joy. Annetta has extended her business to include a pet department. A floral blanket tribute was designed for the memorial service for Sassy, a beloved family pet. To that end, Annetta wishes to extend an offer to Ms. Oprah for memorial blankets in remembrance of her beloved Sadie, Solomon and Ivan.
