George Washington
No Civil War battles of consecuence were fought in California.
The initial battles of the Revolutionary War were extremely short. They were each over in minutes. All of the 5 or more battles near Lexington and Concord plus the running ambushes while the British soldiers retreated to Boston were completed in a single day. The next major battle was the siege of Boston, which took months. The battles were in April of 1775.
Well two of the battles of the revoloutionarey war are the battle of Saratoga and the battle of Yorktown.I just know their is more but those are the only ones I can think of. Emily O'Hare
The Revolutionary War was fought throughout the original 13 colonies, as well as at sea and in the Caribbean. More of the was was fought in the middle colonies - New York, Maryland, New Jersey, Virginia and South Carolina - than perhaps in other places, but there were battles in all of the original 13 colonies. Some of the more famous battles were at; Concord, Bunker Hill, Long Island, New York, Saratoga, Ft. Ticonderoga, Trenton, and Yorktown. These are just a few...there were many more.
Minnnesota has had far more Revolutionary War and Civil War battles fought in its borders; 3 Revolutionary War battles and 7 Civil War battles (including Appomattox). The two states are also different in climate (Minnesota gets much colder weather) and in their location-- New Jersey is near the Atlantic Ocean, on the east coast of the United States. Minnesota is in the upper mid-west, and is located near lakes (but no ocean). New Jersey is in the eastern time zone, while Minnesota is in the central time zone. And I believe Minnesota is a bigger state in size than New Jersey.
Early in the American Revolutionary War, there were more battles in the northern colonies than in the southern regions. Key battles such as the Battles of Lexington and Concord, Bunker Hill, and Saratoga primarily took place in New England and the Middle Atlantic states. The southern colonies saw less military action until later in the war, making the northern colonies the focal point of early conflict.
In the Revolutionary War battles both sides were armed and trying to take or hold positions. In the so-called Boston Massacre, on the British troops were armed. The crowd threatened them was not armed with more than snowballs, but the troops felt threatened and were backed into a corner. Hundreds died and more were wounded on both sides during most battles of the Revolution. At the Boston Massacre only five of the mob were killed and no British troops were wounded
Massachusetts, home of the Battles of Lexington and Concord. Before the war it was home to the Boston Massacre and the Boston Tea Party. Of course, Massachusetts was only a British colony then, and it did not become a US state until more than twenty years later.
