Manga ArtistManga is the Japanese word for comics and print Cartoons. A Manga Artist is one who makes the comics and cartoons. I myself am a Manga Artist. Manga Artists make all kinds of comics such as InuYasha, Ranma 1/2, Ayashi No Ceres, Tsubasa, and even more. All of the ones that I have mentioned are Animes too. An Anime is when a Manga becomes a Japanese TV show. Also . . .Another quick note is that manga artists are called a mangaka in Japan. They are also very well worshipped among the Japanese.

Rumiko Takahashi: creator of InuYasha (watched and translated in over 60 nations!) watch the 1st episode and you'll be hooked! especially if you like dog ears!

She is the mangaka of 'Red River' otherwise known as Anatolia Story, Ao Fuuin and so much more. She brings romance and love into her works, and also for some, entwined with Horror and action as well. 5th Answer There's no such thing as the 'best' manga artist or the 'best' anything for that matter. Since there are so many unique styles and everybody has their own opinion on what they prefer, which could also be biased if they like the stories published respectively with the artwork. There are, however, several artists that are quite impressive.

Two such artist:

- If you like detailed work, Nihei Tsutomu is sure to drop your jaw with his detailed backgrounds and unique cyberpunk style. The manga "NOiSE" is a good place to sample his work, followed by "BLAME!". His works strongly focus on action rather than words, with just enough dialogue to keep the story moving.

- Katsura Hoshino is the creator of "D.Gray Man", a beautiful gothic-fantasy manga, of which you can especially see her talent in the latter half. Her character design, posing, architectural design, scaling etc. etc. seem flawless these days.

Inoue Takehiko - Heard of Slam Dunk? The manga that inspired a generation. Haven't? READ IT NOW. His art for Vagabond is pure bliss.

Mitsuru Adachi - Author of H2, Touch, Katsu!. Great storyteller, able conjure intense emotions with amazing subtleness

Nobuhiro Watsuki - Seriously? In 5 of the above answers no one mentioned Kenshin?

My favorites are Chie Shinohara and Kyouko Hikawa. I love both of their art and they look kinda alike.

Here is the list of the best Manga Artist of all time...

1. Ozama tezuka - the father of manga.. no doubt about it

2. Akira Toriyama - the manga you see today won't be the same without Dragon Ball Z

3. Masahi Kishimoto - have you heard Naruto? not a best selling manga but the most famous globally.. 2nd to Dragonball Z for all time

4. Rumiko Takahashi - Ranma 1/2 and Inuyasha are famous internationally in both manga and anime

5. Ichiiro Oda - he was next to Toriyama after Naruto but still he's working great with his One Piece

6. Takehiko Inoue - every page of his work is a masterpiece... slamdunk and vagabond is a manga to have

7. Nobuhiro Wasuki - creator Runrunin Kenshin which is famous globally during the its prime

8. Tite Kubo - creator of Bleach.. he could be out in the top but Bleach is famous anyway and fans will fight for it

Bakuman is a manga based on two middle school boys who dream to become manga artists for very different reasons. They team up, and become Ashirogi Mutou. Throughout the 175 chapters, it explains how mangas are published, going from manuscripts to one-shots to serializations, and eventually an anime. It is an amazing story, and a must-read for any otaku, because it explains the behind the scenes work of the art.

The artists are those who created Death Note as well.
