You'll need to remove the driveshaft in order to do this.
With an appropriate tow bar, no.
Sure can. Look at those big RV's on the road ... most are pulling a car using a tow bar.
you can hock on the main axel and then put in netral
You should never tow a car with Automatic transmission
In most states you must use a tow bar. Check out your local U-haul dealer.
You put the automatic in neutral, or put a dolly under the drive wheels.
put it in neutral, you can also have someone steering the car
The best place to find a tow bar for a car would be at auto accessories stores. Check out Canadian Tire, for example. Or one could look on a site such as Amazon.
I was told by a Toyota dealer that I cannot dolly tow a car (AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION) with the drive wheels on the ground. So, a front wheel drive car can be on the dolly forward but a rear wheel drive would have to be backed on the dolly.
Of course you can, in fact the best towing cars are automatic
If it is a standard shift and not an automatic, yes as long as you put it in neutral. If it is an automatic you can disconnect the drive shaft. Otherwise you cannot tow it or you will damage the transmission as it will overheat.
is the vw stick? or automatic? what yr? etc? some years the stick will lock out, and you can use a simple tow bar setup...? if it is automatic I am not sure how you would do it...
