Installing a larger cam will allow more fuel and air into the combustion chamber to make a more powerful BOOM in the cylinder. (May have to change fuel injectos as well)
Follow the recommendations from the cam manufacturer.
Cam bearings are pressed into the block therefore there is NOT an adjustment.
Suzuki Bandits have an automatic cam chain tensioner. No manual adjustment is necessary or possible.
no valve adjustment. hydraulic lifters (cam followers).

No Harley Sportster has ever had a cam chain. The camshafts are gear driven, directly off the crank. No tension adjustment required.
If this is the (S.O.C) single overhead cam, there is no adjustments. The cam is worn, or there is a stuck valve, or broken valve spring. Hope this helps, GOOD LUCK!

Raise the hood and look to the rear of the light assembly and you will see a white adjustment cam. Turn lights on with something directly in front of truck to refelect liglts (garage door, plywood, etc) use allenwrench to adjust cam left or rght. To adjust the cam chain on an XL350, first, ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the battery. Remove the timing cover and check the cam chain tensioner; if it's too loose, adjust the tensioner according to the manufacturer's specifications, typically by turning the adjustment screw or bolt. After adjustment, rotate the engine by hand to ensure there is no binding, then reassemble the timing cover and reconnect the battery. Always refer to the service manual for specific torque settings and procedures.
It depends if it is an OHV(pushrod motor) or a s.o.h.c./d.o.h.c. motor. Ohv engines can have a timing chain set that allow for adjustment, to be installed. You can also install crank keyways that adjust the timing by moving the crank cam gear the required degree/s. Overhead cam engines can have cam gears installed that allow for cam adjustments.
