With a permit, it's going to vary by state. A slider trailer extends from 48' to 80' - some loads still hang over the back.

On a 5' X 8' Utility Trailer you would want a 60% / 40% axle weight distribution for optimum towing/tracking of trailer. A design of 96 total inches in length would produce a 54" length from the front of the trailer to axle center. Adding an additional 10 inches to the rear of the trailer would then produce a optimum 63" length from the front of the trailer. Extending this trailer by 10 inches would fall into a safe range as long as you take into consideration the weight distribution of the load.
There are several different types of trailers out there, each with their own methods for loading. You wouldn't load a dump trailer, tanker trailer, and flatbed trailer the same way.

Pulling a trailer requires more energy than carrying a heavy load.

The deck beam cantilever chart provides information on the maximum allowable cantilever length and the corresponding maximum allowable load for a cantilevered deck beam. This helps in determining the structural integrity of the beam by ensuring that it can support the intended load without failing.

Typically horses won't load into trailer because they look like small dark caves, which frighten horses.
