I wish I knew the answer. We have a 2002Expedition (no head rests). We have the same concerns. I am looking for aftermarket seat manufacturer that would make headrest add on, bench, or bucket that would fit. I will post again when I find a vendor.
Passive headrests are fixed, non-adjustable headrests typically found in car seats. They are designed to provide support and protection for the head and neck in case of a rear-end collision by helping to limit the movement of the head during impact.
stick straightened out heavy duty paperclip in small hole on one of the posts holders, and push the adjuster on the other side post holder but, I want to find different replacement front headrests that don't push my head forward, or learn how to rebuild the headrests. Regarding replacements, I found that the headrests from my 2006 Silverado are an exact fit in my 2010 Impala, and they are straight up so my head is not pushed forward. Even the grey cloth color is a match.
Front seat headrests are not adjustable.

You need to have the airbag computer checked for trouble codes. The light will be on anytime there is a failure.
In older cars, most seats had a low back with adjustable headrests. Over time most have been replaced with high-back seats with no adjustable headrests.
