Notice is not necessary in all state prior to repossession. In fact it is not necessary in most states.
If you have paid current on the loan, and the repossession occurred anyway, this is likely a communication lag between the lender and the repossession company. It happens often. Contact your lender and explain what happened. Be patient and polite--they are not required to return the vehicle. They likely will because they want your money not the car. Ask the lender how you can get your vehicle back. Ask them who has your vehicle, and call that company to explain the vehicle was "wrongfully repossessed" and why. Again, be patient and polite--these people have your car.
In a few states, you will get a "XX day right to cure" notice. But when it comes time to repo the car, NO. If you know you are in default, the lender has been begging you to pay something, ect., GET YOUR PP OUT. The lender and the repo company doesnt want your PP. They dont want to deal with it anyway. Then when its repo time, you can go on about life without the interruption of redeeming your PP and additional cost. It just doesnt have to be that way. NO you will not be notified
Amanda, if you are behind on the payment, youare "in trouble' with the lender. you are in default and could be repoed by the lender at any time. they just havent pushed the issue YET. Co-signor can only 'repo" IF they are listed as co-owner on the TITLE.
There is a good overview on REPO-LAWS Just search the way I typed it.
Yes, why would you block a car in anyway? That is just foolishness! Whom ever you are that gave such an answer -- maybe you should check your sources friend for your "answer" is foolishness. The answer is no, unequivocally NO
Mike, dont know what state you are in sooo cant say if you had to have "notice" or "repo papers". The LENDER is liable for Damage to the car. You will need some type of proof that damage was done during the repo. Cant just pop up and say, "oH'they broke my car". Tooo many folks try that so lenders are just not falling for it. But, get your ducks in a row and call the lender, explain what proof you have and try to reach a settlement. If that fails, call an attorney.
NOT just for a simple repo NO. IF there are other complications added to the repo, maybe.
No!!! Operation repo is prescripted and practiced just like any other tv show. The cars they repo are purchased especially for the show and some are even donated.
If you got the new arrangements in writing, no, unless the new arrangements stated that repo would happen if new arrangements were not met in timely manner. If nothing in writing, arrange to get your personals out of the truck.
I need to know how long does it take the bank to repo your car if you are 2 payments behind. Can I make arrangements to make a payment next week
Repo fees.
NO, not for just being repoed.
The bank/lending company are the ones who repo your car the repo chimps are just their agents.Your bank should tell you.
